SLBANZ successfully hosted the AI Workshop – Build Your Business Smarter with AI on Saturday, 21 March 2026 at the Auckland Business Chamber, 90 Symonds Street, Auckland. The event brought together professionals and business owners from across the Sri Lankan business community in New Zealand.
The workshop was conducted by Pasan Thilakasiri, PhD, Principal Consultant (IT) at HighFlyer Technologies Limited. Attendees gained practical insights into how Artificial Intelligence can be used effectively in everyday work and decision-making.
Topics covered during the session included understanding the AI landscape, using AI like a pro in everyday business tasks, what AI actually costs, a glimpse into AI automation, and how AI serves as a supplement rather than a substitute for human expertise.
Pasan led the training using Anthropic Claude, demonstrating best practices for working with large language models. Attendees learned about token usage, Anthropic Claude API integration, and practical techniques for getting the most out of AI tools. The session also featured hands-on Anthropic Claude exercises where participants worked directly with the platform on the spot, building confidence through real-world practice.
